The Tiger Den Report:
The Tiger Cubs have been rather busy. We visited a firehouse and learned about fire safety. One of the fire fighters put on his gear so we could see how they would look and sound if they ever came to save us from a fire. We went in the back of an ambulance, the cab of the fire truck and even got to see where the fire fighters sleep. We also went on a tour of WTTW. We saw all of the different sudios, master control and got a quick lesson in who's who in the control room during a live airing. We even tested out one of their sound proof rooms. Mrs. Carmen Schmidt did a wonderful job on the tour and gave each scout a cassette tape, book and stickers. We had a great time. All of the Tiger Cubs have earned their achievement beads and will be receiving their tiger cub patch for their belt totem. Congratulations Boys! We are very proud of you!
The Wolf Den Report:
During the months of January and February, the Wolf den has been working to complete the requirements needed to earn their Wolf Badge. We've talked about a Healthy Body, Our Home and Community, Being Safe in our Home, Recycling and our environment, and making choices. They practiced some ways to honor our flag, finishing up with performing an outdoor flag ceremony.
The boys have worked real hard to earn their badges. 2 scouts, Dakota Cardoza and Andreas Otir, have earned the Bobcat Badge. Dokaota Cardoza has also earned the Wolf Badge, Gold and Silver Arrow Points. Joshua Witt has earned the Wolf Badge along with Gold and 3 Silver Arrow Points. Congratulations to all.
The Bear Den Report:
During the months of January and February the Bear Den has finished working on the 12 achievements needed to earn their Bear Badge. We've all worked real hard and are very proud of all 7 of our scouts. We've also visited the Fire Station and WTTW Channel 11 for a real neat tour of their facilities. Everyone had a real nice time at both outings and learned a lot. We've also been practicing The mexican hat Dance and we've made pinatas for the mexican theme for our Blue and Gold dinner.
The Webelos Den Reports:
Since the last pack night, the Webelo Den has been working on various prjects. The Raingutter Regatta boats the guys made earned some of them the Craftsman Activity pin. We have also been trying to meet the requirements for the Fitness and Readyman Activity pins. Kurt Ohlin (winner of the Webelo Raingutter competion) is nearing completion fo the Arrow of Light and william Petrovich is close to earning his Webelo badge. With the weather getting warmer, we will be spending more time outside and concentrating oon the Naturalist and Forester pins. All the guys need to keep working hard on their advancement as they near the transition from Cub Scouting into the ranks of the Boy Scouts.
